Pres spox: Russia does not discuss fin, econ ministries’ merger

MOSCOW, Aug 31 (PRIME) -- Discussion of a merger between the Finance and the Economic Development ministries is not on the Russian government’s agenda, Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the president told reporters Monday.

Earlier on Monday, business daily Vedomosti reported that the government is studying proposals to unite the two ministries.

“No, there is no such topic on the agenda,” Peskov said, adding that there are many thoughts on how to improve the government structure but since there were no orders and no decisions to discuss the issue, the idea is purely hypothetic.
